One year anniversary

Today is Thanksgiving Day, the day to be grateful and to celebrate all our blessings. Every year, my family and I drive one hour to Fort Mill, South Carolina, to spend the holidays with my mom’s sisters and all our extended family. As far as traditions go, it is a nice one, and I hope to never betray it. Before we left, my dad caramelized carrots and wrapped them in foil to cook at my aunt’s house. I went for a run at 10:00 (2 miles, 9:45/mile average), and was reprimanded for not helping my dad with the carrots. I felt bad, but this run was important. It has been a year since I got the ex fix on, and what a year can mean. So much has changed and I’m grateful for the time that has passed.
There is not much to do immediately when we arrive in Fort Mill because my mom is usually the first of the sisters to get there, so we always make small talk and enjoy appetizers, among which is the famous vegan artichoke dip that everyone goes nuts for.
Thanksgiving at my aunt’s house. Today, I decided to run a marathon.
